DUAL NODE DETECTION SYSTEM
Dual Node System Overview
The SCAN~LINK Dual Antenna Detection System uses passive RFID technology to alert equipment operators when a ground worker enters a hazard zone, helping reduce the risk of struck-by incidents. With two antenna units, the system creates expanded or multiple detection zones to increase coverage around equipment.
Workers wearing SCAN~LINK safety apparel are detected automatically through embedded passive RFID tags, allowing any equipped machine to recognize nearby personnel across any jobsite. Each detection event is also recorded with time, date, and apparel ID, supporting ongoing safety analysis and improvement.
The system includes two antennas, an in-cab display, external alarm, and mounting hardware, and is designed to deliver flexible, expanded detection coverage for complex equipment layouts and high-risk jobsite environments.
How does SCAN~LINK Work?
SCAN~LINK’s passive RFID system detects workers wearing RFID-tagged safety PPE and instantly alerts both operators and nearby personnel. This real-time warning helps prevent struck-by incidents, improves operator awareness, and keeps worksites safer.
Dual Detection Zone
The SCAN~LINK Dual Antenna System creates two detection zones around heavy equipment, enabling expanded or multi-zone coverage. This is ideal for monitoring a combination of front, rear, and side hazard areas.
Workers wearing SCAN~LINK passive RFID safety apparel are immediately detected, alerting both the operator and ground worker, helping reduce struck-by risks and improve operator awareness.

DUAL NODE SYSTEM COMPONENTS

PRIMARY ANTENNA
The 3.0 Armour System offers three different antenna options designed for flexibility, supporting extended range, customizable coverage, adjustable range, and full coverage detection. Each antenna delivers reliable performance in low light, dust, fog, rain, and harsh industrial environments.
Housed in rugged, weatherproof enclosures, SCAN~LINK antennas are built for reliable performance in harsh environments. Each antenna monitors designated detection zones, identifies workers wearing SCAN~LINK passive RFID safety apparel, and wirelessly communicates alerts to the in-cab display unit. Detection event data is also recorded and stored for analysis.

STANDARD ANTENNA
The Standard Antenna features a redesigned, compact form factor with enhanced passive RFID detection performance. Well suited for a wide range of equipment applications, it provides reliable and consistent worker detection across most jobsite environments.
SPECS
- Standard - SCAZ96-2 Class 2 Level 2 ANSI/BISCAY 107-2004
- BC Class 2 safety rated
- Each vest has a unique ID
- UHF Passive
- Sizes: M, L, XL

LONG RANGE ANTENNA
The Long Range Antenna builds on the proven enclosure of the 2.0 system, combined with upgraded 3.0 internal technology to deliver extended detection capabilities of 40+ feet. Ideal for larger equipment and applications requiring expanded safety zones.
SPECS
- Input Voltage +12VDC – +28VDC
- Typical Range: 20 feet / 6 meters
- Temperature Range: -20°C – +85°C / -4°F – +185°F
- Frequencies Available: 902.3 – 927.7MHz, 920 – 926MHz, 865.7 – 867.5MHz

COMPACT ANTENNA
The Compact Antenna is a smaller-format antenna designed to support full coverage detection and flexible multi-antenna configurations. Ideal for tight-clearance environments where space is limited but reliable detection is critical.
SPECS
- Standard - CSAZ96-02 Class 2 Level 2 ANSI/ISEA 107-0224

AUXILARY ANTENNA
All three Antenna options are available to use as the Auxiliary Antenna. The Auxiliary Antenna is connected to the Primary Antenna via RF cable.
SPECS
- Temperature Range: – 20°C – +85°C / -4°F – +185°F
- Typical Range: 20 feet / 6 meters
- Frequencies Available: 902.3-927.7MHz, 920 – 926MHz, 865.7 – 867.5MHz

DISPLAY UNIT
The 3.0 Display Unit features an upgraded LED interface that intuitively shows operators exactly where a detection occurs around their equipment. With support for customizable detection zones, the display can be tailored to match a wide range of system configurations. Visual and audible alerts notify operators when workers are detected, with adjustable volume for different operating environments. Wirelessly connected to the antenna system, it performs continuous self-diagnostic checks to ensure reliable operation.
The Display Unit also includes an Operator Mute function to prevent self-detection alerts while maintaining full detection of surrounding workers.
SPECS
- Temperature Tange: -20ºC — +85ºC / -4ºF — +185ºF
- Volume Controls: Pushbutton Select
- Power Consumption: 1W

RF CABLE
The RF Cable is used to connect the Primary Antenna and the Auxiliary Antenna. The Antennas must be connected for the Dual Node System to function properly.
SPECS
- Length: 10 feet / 3 meters
- Connector: Coaxial Type N
EXTERNAL ALARM
The External Beeper Alarm is an essential accessory to the SCAN~LINK Armour System™. It is mounted on the outside of the mobile equipment to allow workers in the vicinity to hear a staccato alert warning on detection of a tagged worker in the danger zone.
SPECS
- Operating Voltage: +6VDC – +28VDC
- Temperature Range: -20°C – +65°C / -4°F – +149°F
- Sound Pressure: 95±5db(S) at 6VDC at 25°C / 77°F, 109±5dB(A) at 28VDC at 25°C / 77°F
MOUNTING BRACKET
The adjustable Antenna bracket has mounting holes on either side for securing the External Beeper Alarm. Simply unthread the washer from the alarm, insert the alarm into the mounting hole and thread the washer back on.
SPECS
- Maximum Angle: 90º
- Finish: Heavy Duty Powder Coating
