Do the passive RFID tags affect vest comfort or weight?
No. Tags are lightweight (like a sticker) and are installed behind the reflective tape, so the vest wears the same as standard high-visibility apparel.
The vest itself is a very lightweight vest, and should not affect comfort.
Can vests or lanyards be washed?
Yes, with proper care. Hard washing is recommended; if machine washing, use a delicate cycle only. DO NOT MACHINE DRY. Lay flat or hang to air dry only.
NOTE: Improper washing or drying can damage the embedded components and void warranty coverage.
Do the vests come with passive RFID already embedded?
Yes. Each SCAN~LINK safety vest or lanyard/sash comes with passive RFID tags already embedded behind the 3M reflective tape. Additionally, no maintenance or charging is required for the tagged apparel as they do not require batteries.
How do the safety vests and lanyard/safety sash differ?
The orange and yellow vests and the lanyard/safety sash provide the same RFID detection functionality. They differ in safety standard classification, closure style, and available sizing. See the 'Safety Apparel Specifications' section above and choose based on your site's PPE requirements.
