RFID Worker Safety Systems for Industrial & Manufacturing Facilities
Protect your workers from struck-by incidents with passive RFID proximity detection built for plant floors, yards, and production zones.
In industrial plants and manufacturing facilities, workers on foot share space with forklifts, overhead cranes, reach trucks, and heavy mobile equipment in tight aisles, loading bays, and production zones; often in environments where noise, machinery, and obstructed sightlines create additional challenges for worker safety.
These conditions are common across steel and metal processing mills, foundries, scrap yards, recycling facilities, material handling operations, and manufacturing plants where workers and mobile equipment operate in close proximity. SCAN~LINK's passive RFID detection system provides real-time alerts to equipment operators and ground workers when a tagged person enters a configured detection zone, adding an additional layer of awareness around moving equipment.

How SCAN~LINK Protects Workers Around Industrial & Manufacturing Equipment
See how SCAN~LINK's passive RFID system alerts equipment operators and ground workers in real time. Built for industrial environments where forklifts, loaders, material handlers, yard vehicles, and other mobile equipment operate around workers.
Single Node Detection System
Cover blind spots around heavy equipment with targeted passive RFID detection designed to help prevent and reduce struck-by risks.
Conveyor Detection System
Protect workers on active conveyor systems with passive RFID detection that triggers alarms and integrates directly with E-stop systems.
RFID-Embedded Safety PPE
Equip workers with passive RFID-embedded PPE that integrates seamlessly with SCAN~LINK safety systems for reliable protection.
Access Safety and Support Compliance with Data and Telematics
SCAN~VUE™ automatically logs every detection event with timestamps and worker IDs, giving safety managers the audit-ready reports they need for regulatory compliance. Access heat maps, trend data, and incident history from any device.

E.g: The SCAN~VUE heatmap visualizes where worker-equipment interactions occur most frequently, helping identify high-risk zones and support data-driven safety improvements.

PREDICT WHERE ACCIDENTS ARE MOST LIKELY TO HAPPEN
PROVE ROI WITH MEASUREABLE INCIDENT REDUCTION
Empowering industrial operations with RFID technology for precise worker safety management and hazard detection, tailored to the unique challenges of industrial environments
FAQs
Find answers to common questions about SCAN~LINK RFID detection systems, installation, and worksite applications.
How does RFID worker detection work in manufacturing facilities?
An antenna mounted on your mobile equipment continuously scans for passive UHF RFID tags embedded in worker PPE. When a tagged worker enters the detection zone, the operator receives an immediate in-cab visual and audible alert, an external alarm warns the worker, and the event is logged automatically. The whole process is automatic and does not require the operator to spot the worker first.
Can the system be used on forklifts?
Yes. Forklifts are one of the most common applications for the Armour System. The antenna mounts to the forklift and creates a detection zone that alerts the operator when a tagged worker enters it, which is especially valuable at aisle exits, blind corners, and loading areas.
Does the system detect people or objects?
The system is built primarily to detect workers through the unique passive RFID tags embedded in their PPE. That keeps the core focus on protecting your people. It also has the option to detect assets and other tagged objects using SCAN~LINK marker tags, giving you added flexibility to flag and protect equipment, stationary vehicles, or other items you want the system to recognize.
Do workers need batteries or charging?
No. The RFID tags in your vests and hard hats are passive, which means they draw no power and never need charging or battery replacement. Workers simply wear their tagged PPE. This removes a major maintenance task and eliminates the risk of a worker being unprotected because of a dead battery.
Can it be used both indoors and outdoors?
Yes. The system is designed to perform reliably in demanding conditions, from indoor production floors to outdoor storage yards and material handling areas where dust and poor visibility are common.
Can proximity detection events be logged for safety review?
Yes. Every detection is automatically recorded with the time, date, and apparel ID. This gives safety leaders an objective, auditable record of near-misses and proximity events to guide program improvements and support compliance documentation.
