HOLCIM CASE STUDY:
PASSIVE RFID WORKER SAFETY ON A CONSTRUCTION SITE
How passive RFID detection improved operator trust, reduced false alarms, and enhanced worker awareness.
Watch the Holcim Case Study: See how the Holcim construction team used the SCAN~LINK Armour System to improve awareness and safety on the jobsite.
SCAN~LINK's passive RFID worker detection system was deployed on an active Holcim construction site to help reduce struck-by incidents involving heavy equipment and ground personnel.
In this video case study, Holcim workers and operators discuss the challenges they experienced with previous detection technologies, including false alarms caused by rocks, debris, stationary equipment, and other non-personnel objects. These unnecessary alerts reduced confidence in their previous detection systems and made it more difficult for operators to rely on warnings in high-risk situations.
By focusing on the detection specifically on passive RFID-tagged personnel, SCAN~LINK helped eliminate nuisance alerts while providing real-time audible and visual alerts to both operators and ground workers. The result was improved situational awareness, increased operator trust, and greater confidence when working around moving heavy equipment without disrupting daily operations.
The case study also demonstrates SCAN~LINK's long-term durability, reliability, and real-world performance in demanding construction and industrial environments, highlighting why trusted detection systems are an important part of improving jobsite safety.
